Why the King Cobra Got Its Long Tail
Many years
ago, a King Cobra was one inch long. Everyone called him shorty and smally
man. He was sad because they called him that. He was looking for friends
and cousins.
A few weeks
passed and King Cobra went to visit Mighty Joe. Mighty Joe accidentally
stepped on King Cobra with his toe. The Mighty Joe stepped on him until he
was 20 feet long.
When he
had got his long tail he was late for the party. Everyone was laughing at
him so he slapped them in the mouth so that they would shut up and they
got quiet. Then the King Cobra slithered away. No one bothered him again
but they were still his family so he did not hurt them. The King Cobras
and all sorts of other snakes have very long tails.
Now for
that day on King Cobras have long bodies.
